- $1 Australian Legal Tender coin
- Issue Limit - 7,500
- Official Australia Postage stamp
- Beautifully designed presentation envelope
Perth Mint and AusPost have produced this gorgeous Stamp and Coin First Day Cover.
Thanks to its cute, smiley appearance, the quokka is known as the ‘world’s happiest animal’. Willing to interact with human beings, it has become a hugely popular subject for ‘selfies’ among thousands of annual visitors to the island.
Issued as Australian legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
Cute Quokka Design
The coin’s reverse portrays a quokka on a beach with a lighthouse in the background. Standing on its hind legs, the herbivorous marsupial is eating its preferred diet of leaves.
The design includes the inscription QUOKKA and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2021 yeardate and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
Official Australia Post Stamp and Themed Envelope
The coin comes on an illustrated envelope portraying a stunning close-up photograph of a quokka. Affixed to the envelope is an official Australia Post $1.10 stamp. The stamp is postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.
